Everyone who comes to Mongolia visits the Cultural Show. It
gives a good picture of the traditions in Mongolian Culture. Pictured above is one of many
traditional dances. The black framing the woman's face used to be her hair, that was glued
into shape, and almost never was changed. The outfits are styled from the late 19th
century.
Yes, this girl is literally
bending over backwards to entertain you. There are several students in the Bible School
that used to be able to do this.
These two men are playing Mooring Hoors, or
horsehead fiddles. The legend behind them is that a man was separated from his love by a
vast distance,
and she turned into a horse to see
him, but she died of exhaustion reaching him. So he carved the instrument with a horsehead
on top, and used her tail to make the bow and strings.
